The heart and soul of the Friend is Wild Country’s original 13.75 camming angle, which continues to be the easiest angle for placing and cleaning. Apart from that, nearly every feature of the Friend has been improved since its creation in 1977. The double axle design is one of the more unique, recent upgrades, which increases the placement range and overall durability. The Friend’s most recent update is the extendable Dyneema sling that extends for reduced rope drag and keeps a cleaner, slimmer, more packable profile on harnesses.
